Mari Saito has been one of the top contributors for the world leading luxury brands in Japan.
Had worked for GUCCI for 7 years since 1991, experiencing a rebranding of the maison by Tom Ford as a PR manager. Greatest achievement there was to contribute highly to reestablish the brand image in Japan. Brought an import show for both women’s & men’s during this period.
In 1998, became a PR director of Louis Vuitton Japan, while the brand had just entered into the fashion industry. Focusing on its “Traditions and Innovations”, had supported a number of events and projects. Among those successful projects, the opening event for Louis Vuitton Omotesando Store in 2002, had created a huge buzz from its extra ordinal event and publicity exposure.
In 2011, “Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo”, the art space, has opened on 7th floor of Omotesando store, and in October 2016, “Fondation Louis Vuitton” in Paris has opened. Had been a PR person for both places since the beginning.
The exhibition “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton”, in April 2016, showcased the largest collection of brand’s archive for 2 months, had attracted 190,000 visitors. Has opened the own PR company, “afumi inc.” after this last mission.
